I’ve gotten so many requests for make up tutorials and what products I use on repeat, and while I don’t have a tutorial up yet this is the next best thing! I absolutely love having glowing and bright skin especially in the summer which means I’ve learned to not be afraid of my two best friends…blush and highlighter. I’ve been wearing the below combo all summer long on repeat. It’s the perfect mix of easy summer glam IMO so I just had to share it with you all! I promise I’ll start doing some tutorials as well but until then I hope this helps, cheers loves!
SKIN
Luminous Silk Perfect Glow Flawless Oil-Free Foundation – I bought this during the latest Sephora sale and quickly became obsessed. The coverage is great for how seamlessly it blends into your skin. I never feel like my skin is weighed down or cakey looking which is really important to me for a fresh summer finish. Shade 6 works well when I’m using self tanner and shade 3.5 is great when I’m more pale. For reference, I’m Italian and definitely have olive/yellow undertones to my skin so I always check that when I’m picking shades! I apply this all over with a beauty blender.
Luminous Silk Face and Under-Eye Concealer – I also tried this during the Sephora sale and love the coverage and natural finish it gives (very similar to the foundation). I use this under my eyes (on top of Becca highlighter), around the corners of my nose and on any blemishes, etc. I wear the same shades as above in this concealer (3.5 or 6).
Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector – If you’ve been following me for a while you probably remember that this product was my holy grail during residency. It’s ability to brighten your under eyes is magical and every tired human on the planet needs it IMO! I started using this under my under-eye concealer and it’s a huge game changer. I have to use way less concealer and the highlighter gives such a bright healthy glow! I use the shade radiant finish and apply it with my fingertips.
NARS Blush – This has been a staple for so many years and yes I use the iconic shade orgasm, it’s truly the perfect blush color and is 100% NOT overrated. As I’ve gotten older I’ve learned to be more bold with it. I love when my cheeks stand out and have a nice tint to them. I apply this with a blush brush and focus it on the apples and tops of my cheeks (right above the cheek bone where bronzer is used).
NARS Bronzer Powder – I don’t use a bronzer every time I do my make up but when I want a more finished or noticeable look I do. My favorite shade is of course another icon…laguna. I personally just focus it on my cheek bones but I may blend the left over on my forehead by my hairline and under my chin for blending. I have a specific bronzer brush that I use but any angled or contour brush works!
BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector™ Pressed Highlighter – I’ve been using Becca pressed highlighters for so many years now. The glow is absolutely incredible! My favorite shades are moonstone and champagne pop. I’ve been wearing moonstone more lately (like in the photo above) which has a whiter shine vs the more gold tone of champagne pop. I use this on my cheek bones, tip and bridge of my nose, Cupid’s bow, inner corner of my eyes, and lightly on my chin/forehead if I want to be extra glowy. I apply this pressed powder with an angled contour brush but any small-medium powder brush would work.
Beauty Highlighter Wand – When I’m not using my pressed powder highlighter, this creamy goodness is my go to. I love that the creamy application makes the overall look more glowy/dewy! It does make a bit more of a mess since I blend this in with my fingers so I only use this if I’m taking more time on my make up and I’m not rushing for something. My favorite shades are goldgasm and pillow talk. Since this one is more dewy I’m not likely to use it on my forehead or chin.
BROWS
MAC Veluxe Brow Liner – I started using this right around the time I started dating Conner and I’m somehow only on my second pen, and said second pen is essentially brand new! It seriously lasts so long which makes it such a bargain. I use the shade fling which is perfect for light brown or dirty blonde hair. If the shade looks weird to you online trust me you aren’t alone, I swear I triple checked my pen before repurchasing but the shade is perfect in person. I use this brow liner to shade in my brows and then top them off with this clear gel to keep my brows in place all day.
LIPS
Lip Glowy Balm – Lip make up or not I always use this gloss to keep my lips hydrated. I’ve noticed over the years having “finished” lips totally elevates any look and obviously adds to the healthy glow. I own every shade/flavor Laneige makes in this gloss so you know I’m obsessed.
Lipstick – I don’t always wear lipstick but when I do it’s almost always a liquid lipstick! I’m linking the one I’m wearing here which is by Anastasia Beverly Hills in color crush.
LASHES
Extensions – I’ve been getting lash extensions since January and absolutely love them. They don’t bother my eyes at all and they make getting ready so much easier. Especially for work, I can now wear absolutely no face make up and instantly still feel put together for the day ahead. I don’t typically do eye liner anymore or eyeshadow for casual daytime make up like this glowy summer look. I get my lashes done by Larissa who owns Larissa Lake & Co in Wethersfield CT.
Mascara – I still use mascara on my lower lashes and for a little trick if you aren’t doing this already use a waterproof mascara on your lower lashes! This tip makes smudging a thing of the past! I feel like with lower lashes any mascara will do just fine but I’ll still link the one I typically use.
Finishing Spray
All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray – I’ve been using this spray since high school and it has never let me down! I spray this all over my face before applying bottom mascara or lip products.
TOOLS
$10 Beauty Blender Set – these beauty blenders are such a steal! They work as good as the original branded ones that are so expensive it should be illegal, literally $20 for ONE sponge vs $10 for FIVE!
Make Up Brush Set – my SIL got me a super cute crystal handle set up make up brushes for Christmas one year and I love them! But similarly to sponges, you don’t have to spend a fortune to get something that works great. This amazon set is $12 for 18 pieces and has almost 29,000 reviews!
